The ANSN are starting up a IWB Hub in its new training centre at St
Johns Park High School. The Australian National Schools Network have
been running successful Interactive Whiteboard Professional
Development for the last three years in Australia with over 350

HUB Aims:
* To build a learning and sharing community where ideas and good
practice can be shared in a supportive environment
* Deliver a comprehensive training program so you will have
confidence using your Interactive Whiteboard and ACTIVstudio
software
* Explore a full range of Interactive Whiteboard capabilities
and good IWB pedagogy
* Share resources with other teachers to use back at school
Program outline
Term One - Days 1 & 2
* Establishing a collaborative professional learning community
* Getting to know the learning community and its needs
* Getting familiar with your Interactive Whiteboard (IWB)- basic
skills training
* Exploring the pedagogy and reasons why we would use IWB's in
our classrooms
* Documentation of hopes/ fears/expectations
* Planning action to be taken back at school
Term Two - Day 3
* Where are we now? Sharing experiences and working
collaboratively to reflect using structured protocols
* Continued documentation : Where to now?
* Engage in current IWB readings to consider new ideas to inform
our teaching practice
* Advanced training catering to the needs of the group
* Planning for Day 5 exhibitions -- focusing on purpose,
evidence, practice
Term Three - Day 4
* Sharing school stories
* Incorporating other technologies in to the effective use of
IWB's in classrooms
* Developing IWB tasks that take advantage of the possibilities
of the technology
* Exhibition planning
Term Four - Day 5
* Assessment of group skills using the ACTIexpression technology
* Documenting learning through a Q&A round robin process

Day One: 6th April 9.30am to 3.30pm
Day Two: 7th April 9.30am to 3.30pm
Day Three: 18th May 9.30am to 3.30pm
Day Four: 31st August 9.30am to 3.30pm
Day Five: 27th October 9.30am to 3.30pm
ANSN logoCost: $750 ex GST per Teacher or $2000 ex GST for a team of
3 teachers (we recommend a team of 3 teachers per school).
